The Harrietville National Bluegrass & Traditional Country Music Convention is no longer held. It was an entirely volunteer event (including the performers, organisers and other helpers). The
final Convention in 2012 was an outstanding success, in terms of the number of performers and the size of the audience. However, the organising committee decided that, for a number of reasons, it
was no longer feasible to continue the event. If you are interested in learning more, you can read further details in HBTCMC Inc Statement.
The Convention was held as one of the affiliated activities of the Bluegrass & Traditional Country Music Society of Australia (BTCMSA). The BTCMSA was founded in 1975 to support and further the growth and preservation of bluegrass, old-time and traditional acoustic country music in Australia.
The BTCMSA is an informal, not-for-profit interest group and information network for people with an interest in playing, listening to, learning and sharing bluegrass, old-time and traditional country music.
There are two main affiliated events:
First Saturday each month (Mar-Dec), Annandale Community Centre, 79 Johnston, St, Annandale. 6.30pm - Safety In Numbers; 7.45pm - acoustic bluegrass, old-time and traditional country music concert.
Occasional jams and workshops held in Blackwood, Victoria.
